How We Started
Travel 2 Explore started of in 1998 as a adventure travel company
with a broad scope of travels that all fall under the categories
original, quality and adventurous, such as trekking in Greenland and
motorcycling through Africa. One of the goals is to give the
traveler an experience as if he was on a exploration. The pace of
our trips is not dictated by the amount of horsepower in the
motorcycle or the availability of a hot shower, but rather by the
natural rhythm of the surroundings and the thirst for adventure of
the modern traveler.Adventure Motorcycle Travels
2003 marked our first organized motorcycle adventure trip. We drove Royal Enfields through the Himalayas over the ?world?s highest motorable road?, the Khardung La pass at 5,602 m (18,380 ft) in India (although this is subject of dispute, GPS readings suggest it is situated at only 4,693 m (15,397 ft)). This trip was such a success that we started planning more motorcycle adventure trips, and soon enough this was the main part of our destinations offered. Our Team
Quirien ?Q? Wijnberg
Q has been an avid motorcyclist since 1999 and has driven half a million kilometers since. Up to 2007 all traveling was done on the beautiful paved roads of Europe, but he then decided to move for work to the United Arab Emirates. From here he participated in an adventure motorcycle tour for three weeks through Indonesia. This made him hungry for more, and he subsequently quit his job in 2010 to travel for 14 months through 30 countries on a motorcycle, with his Canadian wife as the pillion. Now he lives in Toronto, Canada and just can?t shake adventure motorcycling out of his system, time for more adventure!
Paul Duijf
Paul?s stats: born in 1960, married, three kids. Worked 18 years
of his life for big companies. He got hooked on adventure travels
at age of 14 and has made a lot of different travels since. 1997
marked the year to start his own company in adventure travels, and
he hasn?t regretted it since.
Edwin van Delden
Edwin was born in 1965 in the east of the Netherlands. 20 years
he spent traveling to all corners of the world before deciding to
start his own company, that was the start of Travel 2 Explore. He
is married, has a house and two small kids, it?s all part of the
package. Time to hit the road again!
Robert van der Kolk, freelance tour guide
Robert too was born in 1974, not married, but has a beautiful
thoroughbred dog to keep him company. He works part-time in a
regular office, and uses the other days to enjoy what he?s
passionate about: motorcycling! He also teaches advanced
motorcycling course in the Netherlands for anyone who wants to
improve his driving skills. He feels blessed to be able to guide
people around in the most remote corners of the world through
Travel 2 Explore. In short: enjoy life!
